W.W. Norton & Company is seeking an experienced Royalty Clerk.

Essential Job Duties Include:

  • Entering royalty contracts daily: Enter, send to manager to be checked, and file contract.
  • Posting monthly cash daily: Balance back-up with an Excel file, create batches for transactions, post and balance cash with our system and Excel file, then file back-up.
  • Cash Receipts/ Book Rights daily: Wires and journals from the accounting spreadsheet, verify all payments, maintain copies, obtain Excel file from Accounting monthly, balance Excel file with copies, posting, send Subrights to Accounting.
  • New Publication transfers (semi-annually): obtain publication list from manager, do transfers by department, enter missing contracts, create statements, check advances and transactions, prepare Excel permissions sheets.
  • Manual Accruals (semi-annually): print contracts mark for manual accrual, calculate sales from sales report, post in system, prepare excel sheet to book Journal Entries for manual accrual.
  • Generating royalty statements (semi-annually)
  • Coordinate department assignments with manager
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned by the manager.

Experience and Skills:

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience working in Royalties.
  • Employment eligibility to work with W.W. Norton & Company in the US is required.

  • This role is remote but includes responsibilities that will require minimal in-office participation, so must be in commutable distance from our Scranton, PA office.
  • Must be highly organized, disciplined, and self-motivated.
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook and Excel
